DONALD STERLING’S interview with ANDERSON COOPER aired last night, and he didn’t do himself any favors. In fact, this guy is a WAY bigger jerk than you thought.
Sterling really has an ax to grind with MAGIC JOHNSON . . . and even accuses him of trying to basically steal the Clippers out from under him.
Sterling says that when this whole thing busted open, Magic called him and said, quote, “Wait, be patient, I’ll help you, we’ll work it out.” But Magic left Sterling hanging, and then spoke out AGAINST him.
Sterling thinks Magic was HOPING he’d lose ownership, so Magic could swoop in and buy the Clippers.
But it got so, SO much worse. Especially when he went after Magic for his HIV.
He said, quote, “He acts so holy. I mean he made love to every girl in every city in America and he had AIDS. And when he had those AIDS, I went to my synagogue and prayed for him. I hoped he could live and be well.” (“Those AIDS”??? And for the record, Magic is HIV-positive, but does NOT have AIDS.)
“Is he an example for children? . . . What kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches HIV? Is that someone we want to respect and tell our kids about? I think he should be ashamed of himself.”
Sterling also attacked Magic for not doing anything to help his fellow African-Americans.
He said, quote, “What has he done? Can you tell me? Big Magic Johnson. What has he done? . . . Did he help anybody in South L.A.? . . . What does he do for the black people? He doesn’t do anything . . . it’s all talk.”
Sterling said he and his fellow Jewish people HELP each other . . . which prompted Anderson to ask if he believed that African-Americans don’t help each other as much as Jewish people do.
Sterling started to say something that was OBVIOUSLY going to be racist, but caught himself. He said . . . quote, “There’s no African-American . . . never mind.” (Check out video here.)
